Founded in 1945, Llavaneres is the fourth oldest private golf club in Catalonia. Initially built only as a 9 hole course, it has been extended and new facilities were added to give it the characteristics of an established club. Its location allows for stunning views, overlooking the Mediterranean to the east, and the coastal mountain ranges to the west.
El Meresme has a very advantageous climate which gives golfers the opportunity to play most days of the year and also appreciate its magnificent, natural gardens as they walk around the course. Although only a short course, it provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. The newly renovated clubhouse includes a bar-restaurant, pro shop, lounge and games room and the balcony provides a fantastic place to sit back and relax after a round of golf whilst looking out over the sea.
Club de Golf Terramar
The Terramar club in Sitges is the second oldest in Catalonia, being founded in 1922 and designed by FW Hawtree, Manuel Piñero and Jim Fazio. The microclimate of Sitges permits golf to be played in perfect conditions at any time of the year with beautiful views out over the Mediterranean.
The course is not particularly difficult but greens strategically placed and water hazards on many holes tend to make life more difficult on this all-together pleasant course. The Sitges Terramar Golf Course has recently undergone some alteration work and counts on some superb putting surfaces. With over 300 days a year of sun, the Sitges Terramar Golf course can always be enjoyed.
Emporda Golf
Emporda has two separate 18-hole courses. The links spans dunes and lakes in a style reminiscent of Scotland. Forest winds invitingly through pine forests.
In the late 1990s, Empordà Golf was named one of the 10 best courses in Spain.
It was moreover ranked 13th for design in all of continental Europe by “Peugeot Golf Guide 1996”.

Situated close to Girona, this is an undulating course, which is completely isolated from everyday life and has some wonderful views of the historic city from its mostly elevated tees.
The rolling fairways and shrewdly placed water and sand hazards demand sound technique and sometimes the ability to flight the ball both ways.
The greens have lots of slopes and provide a good test of putting.
It is one of the spectacular tests of golf anywhere. Make sure you bring plenty of golf balls! This course has literally been built by slicing off the very top of a mountain. Its superb location offers magnificent panoramic views overlooking the town of Platja d’Aro.
It features a very technical first 9 holes surrounded by pines and cork oaks whilst the back 9 holes are flat terrain with wide long fairways.

The spectacular Club Golf D'Aro is worth playing for the views alone - it's located 300m above sea level in the Les Gavarres Mountains and looks down over the coast and out to the Pyrenees in the distance. Although flat and not too strenuous, cork and olive groves and water hazards make this a tricky test.
Designed by David Thomas, opened in 1989. This is a beautiful golf course with stunning views of the Montseny and "Matagalls" mountain tops. Johan Cruyff, the famous ex- footballer, and many of the Barcelona football team, have been and are members of this club.
The first nine holes are relatively short but technical, the first tee, raised over a splendid lake requires concentration, ahead of a tough round. The incredible views of the Pyrenees at the seventh reduce the stress of play.
The course is at its best on the second nine holes. Once again, the lake comes into play at the tenth. From the raised tee of the par 3 14th, where the green is protected by l'Estanyol brook, there is an incredible view. The changes in level on the 16th allow Montseny and the Matagalls to be appreciated in all their splendour.
Peralada
The Perelada Golf Club is an magnificent round of 18 holes over with four tee-offs for each hole. It is fairly flat with areas of lakes, water-banks and trees, suitable for all types of player.
The course was opened in 1993 and has been designated the best course on the Costa Brava several times. It received an IAGTO award year 2000 as the best up-and-coming destination in the world.
