Golf Du Medoc

Golf International de Gujan

Located between Arcachon and Bordeaux, this magnificent 18 hole course was designed by the superb Alain Prat. Lacanau Golf Course

Gently rolling through a pine forest in a magnificent setting, Lacanau Golf Course could have been a true masterpiece. The layout was designed by John Harris and is simply a good golf course, although half a dozen holes clearly emerge as out of the ordinary. Water hazards are an attractive addiction to the general landscape and call for a little thought before shaping the shot, but they are less than awesome. Naturally, you need to play the course several times to grasp the ideal strategy depending on the tees you choose but here, only the really bad shots are penalised. Although beginners will find a number of holes very tight, golfers of all abilities can spend an invigorating holiday in the sea air close to the Atlantic Ocean. You can play virtually all year at Lacanau Golf Course, as the sandy soil quickly soaks up the rain. The green keeper has worked wonders in keeping the course in prime condition.

Margaux Golf Course

This is a truly professional course that opens on the 1st of January 2006, with undulations and islets over 45 hectares, surrounding the buildings, facing the islands dotted on the river Gironde estuary and in the immediate vicinity of the prestigious Margaux vineyard. In preserved natural and gentle greenery, enthusiasts of the small white ball will have to hone their irons so as not to succumb to the charms of the countryside rolling out before them. The more professional players will appreciate the par 3 of 150 meters, or the 12th green on an islet defended by the Gironde. Remember to take care when finishing the course at the 18th hole with a risky shot over the large lake designed at the heart of the course. For practice, a 21 tee driving range has been provided with in addition, a putting green, a chipping green and a practice bunker.
