Part of the Nicklaus Golf Trail this is the third course to open out of 9, and what a course!
The condition and layout is superb, utilizing the natural desert terrain to great advantage to create a superb championship golf course. Already a popular course with many after only being opened at the end of 2007, El Valle is an absolutely worthy addition to the upcoming region of Murcia. As Gary Nicklaus stated recently "Players are rewarded for their skilled shot-making rather than their strength. El Valle requires intelligent thinking from players who have to create their own strategy."

Hacienda del Alamo
Considered the longest layout in Spain, Hacienda del Alamo’s 7,400-yard course boasts eight lakes and 84 bunkers and will provide a challenge for all standards of golfers. The first Hacienda del çlamo golf course is masterly, thanks to the painstaking work of Dave Thomas, who had all the land he could want to design it, with this idea in mind: There are no limits. That is to say, the golf course was designed with no restrictions on space, as if nothing else existed and then the houses were added so there would be plenty of breathing room with broad open spaces. The golf course is wide, with long holes, spacious, and with many lakes. It is very soft, because it is built on natural terrain. At the same time, it has some very well-planned obstacles. It takes five hours to play, and there are tee-offs every ten minutes, even on very busy days. There is no such thing as a “slow game.” You can enjoy the course calmly, without hurrying.
Hacienda Riquelme
Hacienda Riquelme will be the fourth course to open in the Nicklaus Golf Trail collection of 9, and once again the quality is superb.
Already built and growing in, plans are to be open by May 2008. When some have played El Valle and called this the best, Hacienda Riquelme in the words of Jack Nicklaus himself will be the best in the area; that is until his signature Alhama course opens during 2009!
Another outstanding championship course within a very small radius which promises to be many golfers favourite (how many favourites can one have?)

La Manga North Course
This undulating championship course, which sprawls between palm trees, lakes and 'barrancas', is fairly hilly with tight fairways and large, fast greens. It also features some great views across the resort. The highlight is a truly spectacular closing hole, where your second shot must carry over a 'barranca' to an elevated green.
La Manga South Course
A long parkland course with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed lakes, bunkers and gullies, it's a real challenge.
The front 9 is particularly tough - you need to be really accurate off the tee to have a chance of scoring well - while the back 9 has a number of intriguing doglegs.
Water comes into play on no less than 15 holes. The most testing course at the resort.
La Manga West Course
Many people's favourite course at La Manga is the undulating West Course, which features one of the best collections of par 3s in Spain.
Recently upgraded, its unique setting and distinct character make it a very different challenge from its two neighbours. With numerous ravines, water hazards and dense Spanish countryside to avoid, accuracy is the key to success here.
La Serena Golf
La Serena Golf is located right next to the Mar Menor. Mainly flat, the golf course’s main difficulties are the prevailing Levante wind and the many water hazards that come into play in 16 of the 18 holes. The course, which is not overly long, has a traditional structure. Accuracy off the tee is a must, as bunkers, desert areas and the aforementioned water hazards are all dangerous.
The golf course is walkable. Good challenge for low handicappers, and there are good lay-up options for the rest of us.
The first full 18 hole course to open in the Nicklaus Golf Trail has has been impressing golfers for over a year now.
It is not long only 6000 yards and par of 68, however, shot making is an absolute necessity on this intricate layout. Off the back tees, bunkers, shoulders of rough and only a little water are perfectly positioned to penalise the stray shot. A fair test of golf all in all and suitable for all levels of player.
