Emilia Romagna - Bologna Golf Club

One of the classic Italian courses, designed by Cotton & Harris and built in 1959, the golf club is situated on splendid rolling countryside with marvellous sweeping panoramic views across the surrounding hills and plains. Its layout is constantly being up-dated and in recent years, it has played host to the Italian Amateur Championships many times as well as to a great number of top level professional competitions. The smart and elegant clubhouse blends in well with the surrounding countryside and is the ideal place to sample the refined cuisine of the club restaurant, which has been named amongst the top ten club restaurants in Italy on more than one occasion. In addition, the club boasts an attractive outdoor swimming pool and a well-equipped children’s corner. In 2000, Peter Alliss made some changes to the course.

Emilia Romagna - Le Fonti Golf Club

The course, which covers 6,480 metres, par 72, is situated in the pretty Sillaro Valley near the renowned spa town, an area that enjoys a particularly mild and healthy microclimate. The newly built course and clubhouse, designed by the architect Ivano Serrantoni, offers a wide range of services and a top quality restaurant, which skilfully exploits the area’s penchant for cooking. The course, which is particularly long to suit professionals, is also great fun for amateurs. The golf club and surrounding area have much to offer with an array of therapies for health and psychophysical well being. This ties in with a long standing tourist tradition that embraces culture, music, food and wine, and conferences and conventions.

Emilia Romagna - Modena Golf Club

The Modena Golf & Country Club is situated in a strategic position and it can be reached, quickly and easily, from any direction. The wide greens and tees, the smoothly winding fairways, the large “hungry” bunkers and the numerous, extra-large water hazards make this course the ideal venue for top level competitions such as the Italian Open, which celebrated its 50th edition here. An executive course, a well equipped driving range and two tennis courts complete the sports facilities on offer. The club also features: a fine gourmet restaurant, where sophisticated and local dishes can be relished, a cosy bar and coffee-shop, two swimming pools, a billiard room and TV and card lounges to welcome players and their guests after their golfing “efforts”.

Every new game delivers new sceneries to the golfer and every hole is different from the other. Some holes are characterized by white sand bunkers that intimidates just at the sight. Other holes are introduced with ample spaces of grassy ground for playing in calm. The course allows to shot the first hit without difficulty, but only if the golfer plays from the departure corresponding to his/her own ability - without challenging a course that has the peculiarity to punish the too confident player.
