BELEK - KEMPINSKI - THE DOME
- -
-

The Kempinski opened in July 2005 and already established as the number one hotel on the Belek coastline, set on the Turkish Riviera between the sea and the Taurus Mountains, it is located directly on the beach and overlooking on the other side the magnificent Sultan Course (part of the Antalya Golf Club.) It is sold as a half board resort golf venue not all inclusive.
Known also as the "Dome" the Kempinski is a 5 star plus resort and will offer more quality than all the other great 5 stars that already exist on the Riviera including Gloria and Sirene Palace. Residents of this outstanding new hotel will be offered the same benefits as the Sirene Palace meaning that there are big discounts off both Sultan and Pasha courses plus special access and the chance to buy Gold, and Silver Golf Packages 4 and 5 round golf passes.

The hotel which reflects the pre-ottoman, Selcuk style also includes one of the largest and most luxurious wellness amenities in Turkey, a 2,400 square meter spa and Thalasso recreation centre. There is an essential difference between this property and other resorts in Turkey, bed & breakfast is included not half board nor all inclusive! But there are superb dining facilities including a Turkish restaurant, an Italian, an Asian and a seaside grill restaurant. There is no large buffet style option!

The Kempinski is a small and intimate hotel - very much more the size of the 5 star resorts in Portugal rather than the rest of Turkey, it will undoubtedly be very popular with the discerning golfer seeking a smaller up market hotel with great golf privileges and an idyllic beach location.

Antalya ( Pasha )

The most ambitious golf facility in Belek, Antalya Golf Club has only been open since 2002, but it has already made a considerable impact on visiting golfers.
An inviting 18 hole par 72 layout, you may think that the Pasha is a walk through the woods, but don’t be fooled the beautiful scenery.
This course will test your golfing skills to the limit with its tricky dog-legs, cleverly placed bunkers and fast undulating greens

Antalya ( Sultan )

Without doubt the tougher of the two courses, Sultan delivers a stern but rewarding test of golf that any keen player will relish.
European golf design and David Jones spared nothing to maintain the competitive level of the course, whilst at the same time blending it seamlessly into the forest environment.
Eucalyptus trees surround the Bermuda- grassed greens and beautifully manicured fairways on a course that is a sheer pleasure to play.

Carya Golf Club

Carya in Antalya’s Belek region is the first classic, heathland style golf course to be built on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Designed by Thomson Perrett & Lobb, the international golf course architecture practice founded by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson, it is a championship golf course set on undulating sand hills and cutting through mature pine and eucalyptus forest, at the heart of Turkey’s golf coast. The 7,100 yard, par 72 course, is a demanding test of golfing strategy with free flowing holes that run between pine and eucalyptus trees and across a dramatic sand ridge. Carya also boasts a spectacular new clubhouse and state-of-the-art driving range.

Cornelia Faldo

The Faldo course is a majestic layout threading its way through umbrella pines and built through a vast sand dune ridge, with plenty of small hills and dog legs. The course is a superb addition to golf in Belek and is a more challenging lay out than all the other courses, there are also a number of beautiful lakes which add difficulty to the design. Elevated tees, tight driving holes where position of ones tee shot is crucial to approach the greens and the par 5s are real 3 shotters. One needs a very careful strategic game to score well.
Cornelia may be the most expensive course, but it is the best design alongside Sultan and National. It is undoubtedly the most difficult of all courses, due to the penal rough under the trees in the pines and sand areas. Some holes have pines actually on fairways like Pals in Costa Brava!

Gloria Golf Club

Designed by the French golf course architect Michel Gayon, Gloria has quickly established itself as a challenging test of golf having hosted the Turkish Seniors Open Championship in 1998.
Sitting proudly at the foot of the majestic Taurus Mountains, this well designed course with its tall pines and seven lakes winds its way through a coniferous forest that once guarded Belek’s beach from the Mediterranean Sea.
Gloria certainly requires both length and accuracy if a good rounds is to be posted here.

Kaya Eagles Golf Club

Set close to Pasha and Sultan and a very delightful resort style golf course, it has more similarities to Pasha than Sultan. Crystal clear lakes, lots of bird life and some beautiful views of the Taurus Mountains beyond. The visitor will enjoy this course immensely as it is already in great condition and very playable and never too difficult (like Sultan & National can be.) It is fairly flat and thus buggies are not recommended and the fairways more generous than the Sueno courses for example!.

Lykia World Golf Club

All of the 18 holes have commanding views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountain peaks of the Toros Range inland. The style Pete Dye is bringing to Turkey can be seen in other great courses he has designed – Harbour Town, Whistling Straits and Kiawah Island Ocean Course. The best of the best! It will offer the finest in Scottish Links golf with loads of pot bunkers, rye grass and elevated tees threading their way through mountainous sand dunes. Holes 13 – 16 are dramatically placed in the dunes and hole 17 – the signature hole a tricky par 3 is like the postage stamp at Royal Troon. This is the only links course in Turkey and a real peach!

Montgomerie

The Papillon Montgomerie course has 6 par 5s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 3s and 8 water hazards on the front 9 with a back nine which boasts many holes with waste sand areas. This is another impressive project and will prove to be one of the very best golf courses in southern Europe. The Papillon course is laid out across a range of sandy ridges and wild umbrella pines in abundance. The front nine holes have water hazards right down the left hand side and as one moves into the back nine there is less water but alot of holes with island tees requiring carries over sand waste areas before hitting the fairways. The finale is superb with a great 18th hole climaxing with water hazards in front of the clubhouse. Colin Montgomerie has excelled himself in the design of this superb new development

National Golf Club

Opened in 1994 to great acclaim, this David Feherty and David Jones designed course quickly gained international recognition when it hosted the PGA European Seniors Open in 1996 and 1997.
Carved through a forest of eucalyptus and pine trees with the back-drop of the snow capped mountains and an array of natural lakes, the National, with it’s numerous dog-legs and blind shots to contend with will test players of all abilities.

Sueno Dunes

The course opened on 8 November 2007 and is part of a wonderful new 36 holes project with a 170 resort style golfer's hotel on site. The Dunes course makes use of the natural sand dunes and reflects the links traditions of golf course construction. It has spectacular views, island greens and waste bunkers, the courses contrasts so well and combines to make it a really unique experience in a truly special environment. Most holes still thread their way through mature umbrella pines but it is much more open than the Pines course, giving it a links style feel with the sand ridges which run through the course.

Sueno Pines

The Pines course is the perfect partner to the Dunes rather like the Pasha is to the Sultan - it is the tiger of the two 18 hole courses, it is longer, narrower and more difficult, offering a challenge for low handicap golfers and Professionals alike. The course opened on 29 October 2007 and is already receiving early rave reviews. It is heavily wooded with tall mature umbrella pines and plenty of water - there are 19 lakes across the 36 holes. The island green 18th offers probably the most spectacular finish on any course in Belek right in front of the clubhouse, a terrifying final approach!
