The stretch of water that runs south from central Dubai has lent its name to a terrific golf course, that has now been embellished by Thomas Bjorn's redesign project. One of the most recognised courses in the Emirate, Dubai Creek is a par-71 layout that was the host of the European Tour Desert Classic event in both 1999 and 2000.
From the tips, the course measures 6,857 yards, and is renowned for its perfectly manicured fairways and greens. Internal lakes are prominent, while the salt water creek stretches all along the right hand side of the awe-inspiring 9th hole. Dubai's coastal history is reflected by the dramatic clubhouse, which is designed to represent a traditional Arab dhow sail, at this magnificent club that is central to a good golf holiday in Dubai. For some fun, try the par-3 course at Dubai Creek, which is fully floodlit after the sun sets. |
