The fairways are wide, but are also full of undulations, with gullies and mounds to ensure that a level stance is a rarity. Although it is essentially a ‘target golf’ style resort course, Montgomerie was keen to place a value on creativity, and as such imagination and guile will be rewarded.
From the championship tee markers, the Montgomerie reaches 7,308 yards, which is pretty formidable, especially when the Bermuda rough gets thick.
