The distinguished golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Senior, has left his mark on the 840 acres of the estate by creating a truly magnificent championship layout.
When he first visited the site of the 2007 Nissan Irish Open, Trent Jones was struck by the natural beauty of the landscape, so much so that it reminded him of Augusta National. This is the last course designed by the renowned architect, and is a parkland masterpiece. The centerpiece of the layout, and without doubt the focal point, is the 14-acre man-made lake that anchors the front nine. Along with the meandering River Maigue, the numerous hazards that the course is built around make it an entertaining challenge.
With the advent of high-profile tournament golf, there seems no doubt that Adare Manor will continue to build on its already impressive reputation as one of Ireland’s most spectacular golf courses.
Adare Manor hosted multiple Irish Opens up to 2009, and the resort is also within striking distance of numerous fantastic courses, including Ballybunion, Lahinch, Waterville and Kinsale.
