Bonalba is an established tournament venue of considerable repute, having hosted regional events, Spanish national competitions and the budding stars of the European Challenge Tour.
Measuring 6,973 yards from the championship tee boxes, the course can be viewed as two distinct nine hole loops; the opening half is probably the more forgiving – although there are water hazards to be avoided, sound strategy and accurate driving should yield birdie chances. The closing stretch however is more exacting, particularly the final three holes, which are more exposed to the coastal winds and demand powerful and precise ball-striking.
Despite only opening for play in 1995, Bonalba is already seen as one of the premier clubs on the Costa Blanca, and any golfing getaway in the Alicante area should certainly include a visit here.
