La Estancia is within a couple of miles of both the Melia hotel and the famous la Barrosa beach, and is a very enjoyable resort course. Designed by Dutchman Alan Rijks, the course measures 6,843 yards from the championship markers, but the range of tees will ensure that all abilities are catered for.
The elevated greens are protected by a network of lakes and streams that have been strategically worked into the layout, where accuracy is certainly the most valuable asset. The course is also home to an excellent grass driving range, while the new clubhouse is scheduled for completion in 2007.
